Jinggoy snubs JV's proclamation rally
Senator Jose “Jinggoy" Estrada snubbed Friday night the proclamation rally of his half-brother San Juan Mayor Joseph Victor “JV" Ejercito, GMA’s Saksi reported early Saturday morning. Jinggoy’s absence at JV’s proclamation fueled talk that the two are not getting along, but the senator quickly denied they have a rift. “I was invited by Sen. Alfredo Lim to attend his proclamation in Manila," Jinggoy told GMA News to explain his absence in San Juan. Lim is running for Manila mayor under the opposition banner. But in an interview with a GMA News reporter, JV aired his disappointment with Jinggoy over latter’s decision to endorse rival candidates in San Juan , such as Bobby Yan and Jana Ejercito. Jinggoy also endorsed the candidacy of the opponent of reelectionist San Juan Rep. Ronaldo Zamora, Ericson Albavendas. JV is supporting Zamora’s bid for the lone congressional seat in San Juan. Zamora, who was at the proclamation of JV, told GMA News that Jinggoy’s decision not to support him is not surprising because the senator did the same in previous elections. “Senator Estrada has to have his own loyalties, his own people," he said. - GMANews.TV
